  7. 28.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 4.5 blocks in 
  8. 32 games. He led the NCAA in blocks, was 
  9. third in scoring, and fourth in rebounding. 
  10. David became the first player to finish his 
  11. college career with more than 2,500 points 
  12. and 1,300 rebounds while shooting over 60 
  13. percent from the field.

  15. The San Antonio Spurs selected David with 
  16. the first pick of the 1987 NBA draft, but he 
  17. didnΓÇÖt report to the team until two years 
  18. later. He had to serve in the United 
  19. States Navy first.
